Come and Meet us at EVOC Training Providers’ Fair!
Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council is hosting a Training Providers’ Fair for the voluntary sector on Thursday 16 March at the Assembly Rooms in George Street, from 1pm to 5pm.
The event offers an opportunity to meet a wide array of training providers, find out about different courses, network with other voluntary sector colleagues and to participate in various seminars – all for free!
Nisus Scotland will have a stall on the day to let people know what training they are currently offering. There will also be a chance to get some hands on practice at PC housekeeping by having a taster of the PC Solver course at the Nisus stall.
If you are wondering what training is available in the voluntary sector the Training Providers’ Fair could give you lots of answers.

Volunteering at Nisus Scotland
Volunteering has long been an integral part of the support that we offer to our students throughout the various projects under the Nisus Scotland umbrella.
Gavin, Andrea and Maysoon (volunteers with Nisus Scotland)Our volunteers provide an invaluable extra element to the assistance we offer to all our trainees.
There are currently 15 volunteers working throughout the centre. Some of our volunteers work on different projects over several sessions per week. The volunteers give extra support to our students as they study through the wide variety of courses that we offer.
Some of our volunteers are former trainees that have personally benefited by attending one of our projects. Trainees often return to Nisus Scotland as volunteers to keep their own skills up to date while giving help and support to other trainees.
Our volunteers feel that they gain confidence, a sense of self worth, satisfaction and generally enjoy themselves as they support their students. They also develop new friendships and gain the opportunity to develop their own skills.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering with Nisus Scotland, please contact Neil Main, Volunteer Manager by calling 0131 554 5656.
