Shirley McLeod (pictured right) who works with LinkLiving Edinburgh Mental Health Service, was delighted to win the main prize of a hamper. In her own words it was full of "lots of goodies to satisfy our taste buds over the festive season".

Mark Kummerer from Dundee City Council was also pleased to have won the second prize - a place on one of Nisus Scotland’s IT day courses which he said was "fab news!".

Nisus Scotland values feedback and would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete one of our surveys last year!

Case Study of an EWT Trainee

21-year old Catrina first came to Nisus Scotland in June 2005 when she attended a taster session with Edinburgh Women’s Training Course. Catrina was offered a place and officially started the course late in August 2005.

Catrina has since demonstrated her enthusiasm for learning and a real aptitude for IT. She has also achieved many of the qualifications offered through Nisus Scotland, including Advanced level ECDL qualifications in Word Processing and Spreadsheets.

Catrina is also the mother of two children under five and a guardian for her younger sister, currently in her sixth year at school. However, these commitments have not prevented Catrina from maintaining excellent attendance and timekeeping. She has proven herself to be a superb time manager and has excelled in all areas of the course. Having left school at sixteen with few qualifications, Catrina has made significant progress.

The course is now approaching its third term when all trainees have the opportunity to take part in a work placement. Trish Al-Khamis (EWT Course Co-ordinator) is delighted with Catrina’s progress and is confident that Catrina will now go on to be an asset to any employer lucky enough to have her.
