Nisus Welcomes New Director
Nisus Scotland is pleased to announce the appointment
of Ryan Mackie as the new Director. Ryan joins the charity as
a permanent replacement for Susan Godfrey.
Ryan has many
years experience in the voluntary sector having worked
for Capability Scotland and more recently as Director Scotland
of CLIC Sargent.
Ryan said,
“I am very pleased to be working for such
a fantastic organisation. I would like to thank all the staff
for their warm welcome and support and in particular, Laureen
Campbell and Jackie Moore for their hard work over the last
15 months in their roles as acting Director and Deputy Director.
I look forward to working with them and guiding Nisus Scotland
forwards”.
Inclusive Training Courses in Assistive Technology
Quaytech Training and Assist-I.T. are introducing a range
of courses for individuals working within the voluntary sector,
who support people who have a disability and/or difficulties
with reading and writing.
The courses aim to facilitate greater
access to computers to promote learning and work opportunities.
Course titles include:
- Software support for people with reading,
writing and numeracy difficulties
- Supporting people with
physical difficulties
- 101 ways of using Word to support
learners
These one-day training courses are packed with hardware
and software demonstrations with ample opportunity for you
to have hands-on practical sessions. As well as exploring
current and emerging assistive software support programs
you will be shown how to create innovative and inclusive
resources freely available in MS Office.
