Learn Something New with Nisus and ILA Scotland

ila scotland logoILA Scotland is a Scottish Executive scheme that allows people to get help with the cost of learning. ILA stands for Individual Learning Account and the scheme is aimed at those who are resident in Scotland, aged 18 years and older, earn £15,000 or less per year or are on benefits.

You could have access to up to £200 of funding for training per year, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

Once you have an account, you have to pay a minimum contribution of £10 towards the cost of each course you do. The £10 can come from no other source except you as the account holder. An employer can contribute towards the total cost provided the learning is eligible but ILA Scotland funding cannot be used to provide training that is essential for your employment - any training must be chosen by you and not your employer.

Nisus is currently able to offer you a range of accredited IT training courses to study that are eligible for ILA Scotland funding, including the European Computer Driving Licence® (ECDL) through a range of study options. For more details about what the ECDL is all about please see our article on page 4.
