Sir Tom Farmer visits Nisus

Over the festive period, Nisus Scotland welcomed Leith born entrepreneur Sir Tom Farmer to our Centre based in an area where Sir Tom played as a boy!

At our Annual Graduation Ceremony held in the summer when he awarded certificates to all our graduating trainees, Sir Tom expressed an interest in finding out what we offered in the heart of Leith, where he was raised.

Sir Tom’s visit included touring the Centre, speaking with several trainees and socialising with staff and trainees over some mulled wine and mince pies.

The highlight of the visit was an interview given by Sir Tom to Skilltech project trainees for their newsletter Skills4Life.

To access a copy of Skills4Life, including the interview see the Skilltech section of our website.

Sir Tom commented:

“I really enjoyed the visit and I was very impressed with the training projects you have in place. It was also good to have the opportunity of meeting with the trainees and some of the staff who all seemed to be highly-motivated, enthusiastic people”.
