Employers’ Event a Success

July 1st saw the first quadruple project Graduation ceremony.
Traditionally the graduation has been for the Edinburgh Women’s Training and SummIT courses. This year Nisus Scotland was delighted to have trainees from its other two free courses, FlexIT and Skilltech.

The event, hosted in the City Chambers, was opened by long term supporter of the charity, the Right Honourable Lesley Hinds, Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh.

Sir Tom Farmer presented certificates to graduating trainees. As a local Leither and self-made businessman he has supported individuals working hard to change their lives and he empathised with the achievement of the successful trainees.

Skilltech trainee Richard Fosu, spoke about his positive experience at Nisus and how it had affected his life.

Nisus Director Laureen Campbell and Board Chair Iris McMillian each reflected on the past achievements of Nisus trainees and the future challenges that will be faced by Nisus.

The roles of funders, work placement providers, staff and trainees were all acknowledged as critical to the continued success of Nisus.
