Welcome to the world ...

In our last newsletter we told you that Susan Godfrey, our Director, was about to begin her maternity leave.

Thomas Luke was born on 5 February weighing in at a healthy 7lbs 14 oz. He proved to be just like his mum, deciding it was best to arrive just a wee bit early.

Everyone at Nisus Scotland would like to take this opportunity to welcome Thomas Luke to the world, and of course to congratulate his mum and dad!

SummIT Success Stories!

We would like to congratulate the following ex-trainees from our SummIT project who have all either taken up new employment or training opportunities since completing their course with us:

  • Parmjit, who has moved onto a new job in customer service with Laidlaws
  • Eileen, who has begun training with the Retail Academy
  • George, who is nearly finished bus driver training with LRT
  • Ian, now at Edinburgh’s Telford College, studying Business and IT
  • Denise, who has started a new job with Whitbreads
  • David, now working with Intel Security

SummIT provides a 12-week IT and employability skills programme to support unemployed people who are between the ages of 25-64. The course offers training in all office applications and the opportunity to work towards the “European Computer Driving Licence” qualification.

If you think that SummIT could offer you the skills to improve your employment or training prospects, why not come to one of our Spring workshops? For details see page 2 or contact us to find out more. Call Nisus Scotland on 0131 554 5656 and ask for the SummIT administrator, or send an email
