IntoWork ... Into Partnership!

Nisus Scotland has entered into a partnership with IntoWork. IntoWork aim to secure employment opportunities for people with disabilities by building positive attitudes, developing models of good practice, and through working in partnership with employers, other agencies and individuals.

The basis of the partnership is for Nisus Scotland and IntoWork to work jointly to increase the opportunities open to people with a disability on relevant benefits.

IntoWork will also be able to provide professional guidance and expertise to Nisus Scotland on client support needs. As the partnership develops, IntoWork will take referrals from Nisus Scotland where a client requires more intensive support and will also offer assistance to clients to sustain employment if that is required.

Nisus Scotland welcomes this new partnership and looks forward to providing enhanced support and increased opportunities for our clients with a disability.

EWTC Trainees Attend University

Current Edinburgh Women’s Training Course (EWTC) trainees are soon to begin an Internet course at Edinburgh University's Department of Lifelong Learning. Recent changes to the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) have made it easier for trainees to gather SCOTCAT points. These points are interchangeable for credits which can then be used towards degree level qualifications. The training will also help consolidate knowledge gained on the EWT course. We wish trainees every success in their new venture!

Innovation Fund Success Clackmannanshire Women’s Technology Centre and Prospects for Employment and LearnDirect logos

Nisus Scotland have successfully obtained funding from Learndirect Scotland’s Innovation Fund. This will enable delivery of free IT training to employees and volunteers of organisations in Alloa and South Lanarkshire. Being one of only eight successful applicants across Scotland, we are particularly proud of this achievement.

Clackmannanshire Women’s Technology Centre and Prospects for Employment in Cambuslang have teamed up with Nisus Scotland to deliver this pilot project during January to March this year. Together we hope to establish if there is an ongoing need for a dedicated training initiative in these areas.

For further details regarding this project or for information about attending one of the courses on offer, contact 0131 554 5656 or send an email
