Liz Ireland - Personal Achiever of
the Year
Former
Nisus Scotland trainee, Liz Ireland, has been awarded Learndirect’s
Personal Achiever of the Year. The award was given to Liz
in recognition of her achievements while attending the Edinburgh
Women’s Training Course (2002 –2003). Liz achieved
more qualifications than any of her class mates, while at
the same time coping with significant health concerns.
The award was collected on behalf of Liz Ireland by Fiona
Keddie, Women’s Course Co-ordinator and Anne Shortreed,
a volunteer IT trainer. The ceremony took place at The Hub,
Edinburgh on Tuesday 30th September. TV celebrity, Shareen
Nanjiani hosted the event and the awards were presented by
Lewis Macdonald, Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong
Learning.
Liz Ireland is now working towards an IT Training qualification
at Telford and volunteering one day a week as an IT trainer
on this year’s Women’s Course. Everyone at Nisus
Scotland would like to congratulate Liz and wish her every
success with her future career.
