 Women’s Newsletter
The years women's course will release a newsletter for the benefit of course trainees. It will be edited by course administrator Erica Simpson and volunteer trainers Anne Shortreed and Liz Ireland.

The newsletter is intended to stimulate creativity, encourage self -expression and promote team work. As the women build confidence, we hope to see their increasing involvement in the creation of each newsletter.

Skillnet Edinburgh conclude Computer Training

Skillnet Edinburgh have worked in partnership with Nisus Scotland to pilot a number of short-term certified computer training programmes tailored to the needs of black and ethnic minority people.

The last pilot course finished on 19th August after nine one-day sessions of computer training. 11 students on this course benefited from a personalised training plan tailored to address each individual’s personal career and educational goals.

This course is one of several successful pilots which have explored the provision of computer training specifically to this client group.

Nisus Scotland and Skillnet Edinburgh are now actively trying to secure funding to enable a dedicated project with an exclusive focus on the IT training and personal development needs of asylum seekers, refugees and the black and ethnic minority community. If successful, the project will commence in January 2004.
