Accessibility
Accessibility is important to us - therefore, the Nisus Scotland web site has been designed with accessibility in mind.
As far as is possible, we aim to ensure that it operates across multiple platforms and browsers and is accessible to everyone who wants to use it:
Standards compliance
- All pages on this site are valid XHTML 1.0.
- This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. Those style sheets validate against the W3C CSS Validator. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
- This site uses only relative font sizes.
- We have reviewed the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and believe that the pages on this web site are WCAG AAA approved, complying with all priority 1, 2, and 3 guidelines. Contentious guidelines are listed below.
Contentious Guidelines
- We do use javascript for the "print this page" link on each web page. This is reliant on the mouse - but we are aware of, and have made clear, the alternative methods available for carrying out this task
- We do have PDF downloads available on this web site - alternative formats of the information are available in all cases.
Navigation aids
- All navigation bar links on this web site have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail.
- All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
